DVR On Road is an application to be used as UI of DVR selected by Volvo Cars. We are going to collect, use, store and reveal some information of yours according to regulations and laws in some situation. The below content will describe how we collect, use, store and reveal this information and scope of the features of DVR and APP function apply to.
1. Information collection from personal device
1.1 Personal device
Personal device hereby refers to smart device, like smart phone and pad, used to install this APP and visit DVR via Wi-Fi connection, and DVR itself installed in your car.
1.2 Information of personal device
You don’t need a specific account to use this APP. In order to ensure the functionality and using experiences of DVR, we will technically collect some information from your personal devices, the smart phone you use to download and install the APP, and the DVR installed in your car, which includes the identification information, the access to location, Wi-Fi and storage of the smart phone, and the identification information and timing of the DVR，and the list of software installed, interface of phone call, ID information of device, like IMEI, Android_ID, ISO code, Wi-Fi status and SSID, BSSID, information of eMCC storage and external storage.
We have to stress that we are not going to touch the data, the video and picture files you capture with the DVR, including those stored in the internal storage of DVR, the APP album or album in your smart device. And only you have the right to control and handle them.
1.3 Usage of information of personal device
1.3.1 The purpose of collecting, storing using and revealing information of personal device is to ensure the Wi-Fi connection, for example, during running this APP in the front or background, we need access to Wi-Fi MAC address of the smart device, and software service supplied by the APP, like using this APP as the UI of DVR and doing settings to DVR, switching Wi-Fi hotspot, doing real-time viewing, downloading from DVR on APP. To ensure good using experience, APP will access G-sensor information of smart phone for user to use horizontal and vertical display switching.
1.3.2 Except the situation that not included in this document or not being notified due to update this document, the information from your personal device will not be used for other purposes. We are supposed to store and use the information above only for the purpose of ensuring the functionality of this APP, including, but not limited to, analyzing and reporting the mode of using.
2. The fundamental function of DVR and APP
2.1 The fundamental and core feature of DVR is to record the event relevant to the safety of your car and provide the proof when needed, therefore you can choose to download from DVR to your smart phone via Wi-Fi connection, copy the target files from the internal storage to TF card and then copy from TF card to other device, or connect DVR directly with computer via data cable to make the copy from DVR to provide the proof when needed.
2.2 As the files you share on social media like WeChat, QQ, are normally default set as open to all viewers, they could be copied, transferred, edit or used for illegal purpose by other organization or individual. You need to realize the existence of this kind of risk. And you need to clearly agree that you would take all the consequences and responsibilities due to your behavior of sharing and we don’t need to take any responsibility.
2.3 But during working mode, DVR will inevitably capture some picture or video, including information sensitive to personal privacy, like human face or vehicle number plate of other party irrelevant to the safety of your car, and without consent. And in order to ensure the fundamental and core feature of DVR mentioned above, No. 3, we cannot use dis-sensitization technology in DVR. Hereby we are seriously reminding you that please avoid downloading, copying and sharing the pictures or videos including information sensitive to personal secret, like human face or vehicle number plate of other party irrelevant to the safety of your car, and you are supposed to take all the responsibilities and consequences of the tort caused to the 3rd party because of your conscious or unconscious behavior.
2.4 DVR installed in your car, together with the APP installed in your smart phone, providing video recording and picture capturing function in your car, have tool’s neutrality, which means when you use them as a tool to engage in behavior of violating the privacy of others, or endangering national security, like stealthily capturing others’ privacy or facilities or areas sensitive to national security, we are totally irrelevant, and you are supposed to take all the responsibilities and consequences.
3.Getting log file
When APP is in connection to dash camera, APP can get log files of both dash camera and APP itself. Log file is irrelevant to user’s privacy and content recorded by dash camera, can be used as a reference of diagnosis, and only after user agrees, getting log files can be done.
4.Safety
We believe that the safety of personal information is vitally important. And we are supposed to take effective measures to protect the information collected from your personal devices and use appropriate process to prevent them leaking to other channels without authorization. Nevertheless, you should understand that this APP won’t totally avoid all the risks relevant to personal information.
